Cate and her basket

This is how I find Cate at some point in each day!

She dumps the toys out that we keep in this white basket, climbs into the basket and proceeds to talk on her phone, play with a doll, or whatever suits her fancy at the time. I just love this little nugget so much. She is full of spunk and attitude. She is inquisitive, which drives me a little crazy sometimes, but I love this trait at the same time. She is a lover and always wants a good snuggle from the people she loves. Our little Cate loves her big sisters with all of her heart and tries her very best to keep up with them and all their adventures. She brings so much joy and laughter to our lives! We love you Cate!

Fun in Cheyenne

This past weekend we were lucky enough to head off to Cheyenne, WY for our awesome niece, Emma's, baptism! We are so happy that we are close enough to family now that we can jump in the car and be able to attend this wonderful family events. 


We left late Friday afternoon and pulled into Cheyenne around 10:30pm. I was thinking it would be a lot later so I was happy we got in when we did. Raymond and Richard piled into the mini with us for the ride. Saturday was spent playing with cousins, feeding the horses, watching Jarom play basketball (he won both games), attending the high school musical, Oklahoma, in which Rayann played the violin in the orchestra, and of course seeing Emma be baptized!

Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam

Ada is a Sunbeam!!! She loves being a big girl and walking into sharing time with Evie. I was actually pretty worried about my little Ada Baby transitioning from Nursery to Sunbeams, but she did AWESOME! I think that it helped a lot having Evie in there with her. Before we went to church that morning Evie sat down next to Ada and said "Don't worry, I'll be in the back of the room so if you get a little scared just turn around and I'll be there." This just melted my heart. It was so sweet. Ada is loving singing time and all the songs and actions she is learning. She loves her teachers and can't wait to show us what she colored in class. I am so happy that she feels comfortable and confident in this new environment. She can be timid, so it makes me so happy when I see her walk into a new situation without any problems.

A couple weeks ago Ron walked Ada to sharing time while I took Evie to the restroom. When Evie and I got to sharing time I watched her walk in. She walked right past her class and I thought what is she doing. She made a bee line to Ada, gave her a kiss on the top of the head and I saw her point back to her class. She was letting Ada know that she was there and that she was in the back if she needed her. I teared up on the spot and said a quick silent prayer to our Heavenly Father for blessing me with these beautiful girls, thanking Him that these amazing girls have one another and thanking Him that they truly love each other!

watch out nursery here I come

Well, my sweet baby Cate is 18 months old and big enough to go into nursery at church! She started attending a couple of weeks ago and I guess we can say she is not a huge fan. I thought she would go right in and not look back like her big sister, Evie. She loves people and loves to interact with them so I thought this would be right up her alley. I guessed WRONG.  She doesn't cry the entire time she's in there, but she isn't happy, she wants to be held by whomever is in there, and then wants to continuing being held the rest of the day at home. I guess we are going to have to brake her in a little like we did Ada. Good thing she is so cute and light weight because the adults in there don't mind holding her. :)

Fun in the Snow

So the Rawlings girls have finally gotten some real good ol' playing in the snow fun this month! We had a good storm a couple of weeks ago and they were able to get outside and do some playing! They sled down our small little hill, built a snow fort with Ron, made snow angels, and did some snowball fighting. Although Evie and Ada thought the snow was fantastic, Cate had a different opinion. She really wanted NOTHING to do with it. She thought she did from inside the house, but once the gear was on and she was out there she couldn't get back inside fast enough. Earlier in the season I bought everyone new snow pants and all the winter gear, boots, gloves, hats, etc. Everyone needed these things since we didn't really have any need for them in North Carolina. When the snow pants came in the mail we opened the box and I showed Evie her cool new pants. Her exact words were, "What are these?". My sweet little 6 year old had no idea what snow pants were. I just had to laugh and thought to myself "oh goodness sweetheart you are in for a surprise this winter!" Thankfully it hasn't really been that bad. It could have been so much worse, but us Rawlings are thankful that Nebraska has welcomed us back this winter with a little bit of mercy because we have still been mighty COLD!
